My research interest focusses on brain neurological disease especially in stroke, vascular dementia, cognitive impairment (Alzheimer’s disease) and other dementia related diseases. I have a broad background in cognitive impairment/dementia research and now I am keenly involved in “Experimental stroke and vascular dementia” research include the studies in Remote Ischemic Conditioning (RIC: Pre-, Per- and Post), cerebral blood flow (CBF), angiogenesis, arteriogenesis and endogenous neurovascular protection. We demonstrated that remote ischemic post conditioning (RIPostC) after bilateral carotid artery stenosis in mice (a model of VCID) improves CBF protects white matter degeneration and improves neurobehavioral outcome with other histopathological changes.
