个人简介
My Ph.D. research comprises the development of physicochemical treatment processes for wastewater treatment applications. Specifically, I'm working on the development, testing, and mechanistic exploration of adsorption processes for the removal of heavy metals from electroplating wastewater.
Being a Postdoctoral Associate under the College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) at the State University of New York (SUNY), I earned hands-on experience running a pilot scale reactor (250 L) for the recovery of nutrient (by stripping ammonia and harvesting crystals of ammonium sulfate) from sludge digestate at the Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF), San Luis Obispo (SLO), California. The task of validating of a newborn technology called VaSA—Vacuum Stripping and Absorption at a large scale was not easy, especially operating such a big setup (electro-mechanical unit) with the help of some undergrad students. However, it was a very successful project in the end because of my determination and personal commitment. As such, last year, SUNY-ESF and SLO got recognition from the CASA—California Association of Sanitation Agency by winning the 2022 Award: Excellence in Innovation and Resiliency.
