The scientific research is focused on food constituents, biochemical transformation during food processing, bioactive compounds of food, functional techno-functional properties of food, and knowledge transfer to the food industry. Until now, she is the author and co-author of more than 200 scientific papers in total (97 peer-reviewed articles and chapters), two technical solutions, 1 prominent national monograph, 2 university textbooks, 2 student handbooks, and 2 SRIAs: National innovation strategy Agro Food Serbia 2020, developed through CAPINFOOD project and Strategic research and innovation agenda for traditional sweet fruits in Serbia, developed through TRAFOON projects. Her articles have been cited more than 1900 times, h-index is 24 (Scopus).
She held several invited lectures at International Workshops: “Information and Technology Transfer on Renewable Energy Sources for Sustainable Agriculture, Food Chain and Health for All " (2003 and 2007), organized by Division for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Sources-DERES, IAAS Belgrade and UNESCO Commission of Serbia, 2nd FCUB ERA Workshop: Food Chemistry and Biotechnology (2011) in the frame of FP7 Regpot project, organized by Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade, and at international congress/conference: 1stB-FoST Congress, UNIFood Conference.
She participated in 10 scientific projects governed by the Ministry of Science and Technological Development, the Republic of Serbia, and 13 international projects concerning food science and innovation in the food sector (CAPINFOOD, TRAFOON, SMARTCHAIN, Aquaexcel 2020, bilateral project with Slovenia, COST Action CA 19124, CA 20128, ERASMUS-EDU-2021-POL-NTWK-EQF-IBA).
In the period from May 2003 to January 2004, she participated in the project: “Improving teaching and research academic skills in agricultural sciences” organized by the Faculty of Agriculture and Education Forum from Belgrade. Currently, she is a leader of the group of EUREKA Project PROBIBARS, a researcher in the strategic project of Republic of Serbia with China and COST Action CA 19124, leader of FUNPRO Project #GRANT No. 7744714, https://funpro.agrif.bg.ac.rs/, granted by the Science Fund of Republic of Serbia (#fondzanauku, #akronimprojekta, #programideje).
She was in organizing and scientific committees of congresses: CEFood2012, FООDTech2014, UNIFood Conference 2018, CEFood2020, and CEFOOD2022. She is the president of the Scientific Committee of the UNIFood2020 and UNIFOOD2021 Conferences. She is a member of the working group for food in smart specialization strategy, the Commission for Standards and related documents KS E275, Food analysis-Horizontal methods of the Republic of Serbia, and the international organization for standards for bee products ISO/TC 34/SC 19 Bee products.
She organized training workshops for traditional food producers and processors, industrial panels for SMEs on Food chain management, and stakeholder workshops in a frame of TRAFOON and CAPINFOOD Projects.
She is a founder and member of the Serbian Association of Food Technologists (SAFT), a member of the Serbian Chemical Society, Serbian Nutrition Society, COLOSS, and GHI Ambassador for Serbia.
She has reviewed for scientific journals: Food Chemistry, Food Hydrocolloids, Biomacromolecules, Food Research International, LWT, Journal of Dairy Science, Australian Journal of Agricultural Research, Food Additives, and Contaminants Part A: Chemistry, Analysis, Control, Exposure & Risk Assessment, International Journal of Food Science and Technology, Journal of Food Processing and Preservation, Mljekarstvo, Journal of Agricultural Research. She is a reviewer of European projects from the framework program HORIZONT EUROPE as an expert of the European Research Agency (EX2022D535369).
