Bio
Prof. Assoc. Miriam Kozárová, MD, PhD. (1976) graduated from the UPJŠ Medical Faculty in Košice in 2000 and subsequently started PhD study at 4th Internal Department, her habilitation in Internal diseases was in 2021. She has a specialization in Diabetology, disorders of metabolism and nutrition and Internal medicine. In the research sphere, she mainly focuses on chronic complications of type 2 diabetes mellitus, their genetic predisposition, vascular risk assessment and dysplipidemias. From 2009 to 2019, she was the project manager of the successfully completed Center of Excellence for Research of Atherosclerosis (CEVAII), supported by the European Structural Funds, she was the project leader of one successfully completed the VEGA project and twice a deputy project leader, twice participated in the solution of the APVV project. She is currently responsible person for a project of the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic focused on personalized medicine. She wrote 53 publications, 16 CC as author or co-author, she has 238 citation in WoS or Scopus.
