Miriam Brandt

Being a diver since the age of 12, I am passionate about the oceans since my childhood. After a BSc training in marine ecology, I specialised in molecular ecology during my MSc and PhD. My PhD research optimized eDNA metabarcoding workflows for the assessment of deep-sea biodiversity, bringing new perspectives to the study of biodiversity and biogeography in this vast biome. I am now working at NORCE in a project aiming to validate DNA approaches for marine benthic monitoring.
