Bio
Minfeng Xu (M'06) received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Nanjing University, China, in 1982, and the Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, in 1990.
He worked in the fields of condensed matter physics and ultra-low temperature research, and in the design and engineering of power electronics and superconducting magnets for high-energy physics and utility applications. He is currently a Senior Scientist in General Electric Global Research Center, Niskayuna, NY. His research areas include the development of superconducting magnets and systems for magnetic resonance imaging and for other applications.
