2013-: Organizing, preparing course material and teaching at the annual practical and theoretical PhD course in innate immunology, University of Copenhagen (15-20 course participants per year). The PhD course includes lectures, group teaching and practical exercises and evaluation.
2016-: Associate professor teaching at the immunology course for 5th semester MD students at Panum/University of Copenhagen (November-January and April-June).
I hold a position as senior scientist and have a function as daily laboratory leader and supervisor for our research group members. Our group consists around 20 students (BSc, MSc, MD and PhD) and three lab technicians.
I was co-organizer of the 16th European meeting on Complement in Human disease (450 participants), arranged by the Univ of Copenhagen and Rigshospitalet, held in 2017 in Copenhagen.
I have established a considerable national and international network of scientific collaborators that include researchers and clinicians from more than 20 national and international universities and hospitals.
Since 2011 I have six independent positive qualification assessments for associate professorships at the Univ of Copenhagen and Univ of Southern Denmark.
Publications, achievements, awards, etc.:
Since 2010 I have published 39 peer reviewed papers (five 1st, ten 2nd and five last/senior authorships), among them are several papers in high profiled journals such as the Circulation, Biomaterials, Kidney Int, the J Immun and J Biol Chem. I am inventor and author of four pending or issued patents. Despite a relatively short carrier timeline I have >1100 citations since 2010 (>29cites/paper), H-index:20, i10 index: 31 (citation index).
In 2010 I received the acknowledgement as “young scientist of the year” at Rigshospitalet.
In February 2012 I received the Sapere Aude young Elite Scientist award (100.000 €), National Danish Research Council of Health and Disease.
In October 2012 I received the John Lambris Complement Talent Prize at the 24th International Complement Workshop held in Crete.
In September 2016 I received the very prestigious ”Young Investigator Award” (”for Research in Complement in recognition of excellence in complement-focused research and outstanding promise as a future leader in biomedical science”) at the 26th International Complement Workshop in Kanazawa, Japan.
Funding:
Since 2007 I have generated and administered more than 10 mill dkk of external funding to my research projects, the Department, Rigshospitalet and the University (as main and co-applicant).
