I use observations from aircraft and remote sensing to better understand the physical processes driving clouds and precipitation, and I apply that knowledge in parameterizations for dynamical models of the atmosphere at various scales (LES to GCM). My primary areas of expertise are microphysical measurements, large eddy simulation, and making meaningful comparisons between observations and models. In my current position, I am focused on GCM implementation of a unified convection scheme (EDMF).
