个人简介
Miguel Pereira-Silva holds a Master's Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences (2017) from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Coimbra (FFUC), Postgraduate Studies in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (2019) from the same institution and is currently a joint Ph.D. student in Pharmaceutical Technology at (1) FFUC, Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, and (2) Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Santiago de Compostela, at the Pharmacology, Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology Department (I+D Farma Group), since 2019 (SFRH/BD/148771/2019, a competitive grant awarded in October 2019 by FCT).
He is interested in advanced, multifunctional, and multimodal biomimetic nanosystems for improved pancreatic cancer-targeted therapies, namely chemotherapy, RNA therapy, and immunotherapy. He is currently working on all-functional lipidic and polymeric nanoparticles, micelles, hybrid exosome-like nanoparticles, and exosomes. Additional collaborative work includes an active interest in hair and skin delivery of active compounds as well as plant-based nanotherapies, in full articulation with his Ph.D. work related to advanced drug delivery systems for biomedical applications.
Miguel has mentored 6 Master's Degree students, and has authored/co-authored over 29 articles (9 as the first author) in peer-reviewed international journals of the field (h-index=18, h10-index=24, >1100 citations - google scholar; h-index 17 - scopus; RG score >30; RG interest score > 800, RG reads > 20000, RG recommendations > 500), the majority of them in high IF Q1 journals of the field, including Military Medical Research (IF 34.9), Coordination Chemistry Reviews (IF 24.8), Trends in Food Science and Technology (IF 16.0), Small Methods (IF 15.4), EMBO Molecular Medicine (IF 14.3), Journal of Controlled Release (IF 11.5) (2*), Acta Biomaterialia (IF 10.7) (2*), Applied Materials Today (IF 8.7), Expert Opinion on Drug Delivery (IF 8.1) (3*), Materials Today Chemistry (IF 7.6), Life Sciences (IF 6.7), and Pharmaceutics (IF 6.5). Several papers were recently (as of 06/06/22) recognized regarding popularity and impact, namely "Nanomaterials in hair care and treatment", recently listed on SSRN's Top Ten download list for Nanotechnology; "Plant-mediated green synthesis of metal-based nanoparticles for dermopharmaceutical and cosmetic applications" recognized as the most popular article in 3 years (IJP); "Naringenin Nano-Delivery Systems and Their Therapeutic Applications" as the second most cited article in the last 6 months (Pharmaceutics, MDPI); "Topical Minoxidil-Loaded Nanotechnology Strategies for Alopecia" one of the most viewed articles published in the last 2 years (Cosmetics, MDPI); "Unleashing the potential of cell membrane-based nanoparticles for COVID-19 treatment and vaccination", attracting 2500+ views in few months after publication and one of the most viewed (EODD) and "Macrophage Cell Membrane-Cloaked Nanoplatforms for Biomedical Applications", most accessed 7/22 (Small Methods).
He has presented 3 oral communications in congresses of the field, and has so far 5 posters selected for presentation (all as first author). Additionally, Miguel has actively participated in over 100 national and international meetings in the field and has served as a reviewer for several journal of the field including Expert Opinion on Drug Delivery (2), Journal of Controlled Release (2), Frontiers in Pharmacology (4), DDTR (1), Helyion (1), Acta Biomaterialia (1). He is currently a member of the Controlled Release Society and The Surfaces in Biomaterials Foundation (since 2020).
