个人简介
Michele Marroni received his PhD in Earth Sciences in 1990 with a thesis entitled "Geological survey and structural analysis of the Ligurian unit between the Upper Wara Valley and the Taro Valley (North Apennines)".
From 1990 to 1992 he was a consultant on the 1:10,000 scale geological survey project in the Emilia-Romagna region. From 1992 to 1998 he was a research fellow at the Faculty of Earth Sciences at the University of Pisa. He was an Associate Professor from 1998 to 2000 and a full professor of structural geology and tectonics since 2000.
Research activities focus on the structural and tectonic evolution of Marine sequences in different European and non-European regions. In this context, he has frequently been the coordinator of research groups conducting structural geological and tectonic studies in Italy (Northern Apennines and Western Alps), Corsica, Albania, Romania, the former Yugoslavia, Greece, Turkey, Iran, Venezuela, Guatemala and Santo Domingo.
He is responsible for five COFIN/PRIN projects at the local and national levels. He was responsible for the CNR-AGENZIA 2000 project and was involved in the CARG project (Geological CARtography) as Survey Director and/or coordinator of five drawings at 1:50,000 scale.
He is the coordinator of the Mediterranean Ophiolite Research Group (GLOM). He is the coordinator of the Italian Structural Geology Group (GIGS). Professor. Michele Marroni has entered into various research agreements with public institutions and private companies aimed at geological mapping and regional geological studies in the field of oil exploration.
He has published in leading national and international journals
