Bio
Michel Ouellette received the B.A.Sc. and M.A.Sc. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from the School of Information Technology and Engineering, University of Ottawa, Ottawa, ON, Canada, in 1995 and 1998, respectively. He received the B.A.Sc. degree from l'Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (Télécom Paris), Paris, France, in 1995. His Masters thesis was part of a joint collaboration with the Stentor Alliance and Bell Canada, where he focussed on Advanced Intelligent Networks design.
He joined Nortel Networks, Ottawa, Canada, as a Systems Design Engineer in September 1997. His current interests are in voice over IP, TCP/IP congestion control and avoidance, active queue management, content switching and networking, and performance analysis and algorithm design. Since joining Nortel Networks, he has published a number of journal and conference papers and has a number of patents pending.
Mr. Ouellette was the recipient of the IEEE Communications Magazine Best Paper Award at OPNETWORK2001.
