Career Trajectory
Bio
I graduated in 2011 from the School of Forestry and Natural Environment of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), in 2012, I went into the Department of Agriculture of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where I completed my studies in 2015. In 2014, I went into the Postgraduate Program in the Science of Horticulture, where I completed it in the laboratory of Pomology in 2016. In 2017, I was accepted for the preparation of a doctoral dissertation entitled: 'Study of pre-harvest and post-harvest calcium treatments that affect the quality characteristics of cherry fruits (Prunus avium L.)' in the laboratory of Pomology in the Department of Horticulture under the supervision of Dr. Athanasios Molassiotis. Since 2020, I collaborated as a PostDoc in the laboratory of Pomology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. My research interests are related to the study of nutrients in the physiology and ripening of fruit trees using high molecular techniques (-omics) such as metabolic, proteomic, and comparative genomic analysis. During my Ph.D. studies, I received a scholarship from the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (H.F.R.I; application number: 274) for the completion of my Ph.D. (postgraduate studies B΄ cycle). From his research activity so far, thirty-one (31) scientific papers have been published in international peer-reviewed journals and one (1) chapter in an international book (book chapter). The total impact index of the published works is 137.3 (based on the impact factor index in the year of publication of the study). At the same time, I have thirty-three (33) oral or written papers in international and national conferences with reviewers. For the implementation and writing of the works, I have collaborated with a total of 73 co-authors of all levels. I received a scholarship for postdoctoral research in the action "Support for researchers with emphasis on young researchers - cycle BD (MIS: 5047887)" in the project entitled "Study of the cracking of cherries with a combined physiological and -omic approach (Crack-omics)». In total, I have contracted in seventeen (17) research projects related to the physiology of fruit trees and the quality characteristics of their fruits, with a special focus on the conduct of the experiment (experimental design and implementation), data analysis, and reports writing. At the same time, I participated in the program "Acquisition of academic teaching experience in young scientists holding Ph.D." of the Department of Agriculture, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with teaching work in the undergraduate courses "Citrus and Tropical Fruit Trees", "Small Fruit Trees", and "Biology of Horticultural Plants". My reviewer activity in total counts thirty-one (31) manuscripts in the peer-review processing and participate as topical advisory panel and guest editor in two special issues at ' Horticulturae ' namely, ‘Improving Quality of Fruit’ and ‘The State-of-the-Art Horticulture in the Balkan Region’.
