1963, born in Gerolstein (West-Eifel uplands, Rhineland-Palatinat, western Germany) 1969-1982, school in Blankenheim (home town) and Schleiden (both North-Eifel, Northrhine-Westphalia) 1982-1983, military service in Daun (West-Eifel) 1983-1986, 1987-1992, University of Cologne 1986/87, Tübingen University During my studies I took part in several excavations in whole Germany including two campaigns in the former GDR, at Bilzingsleben (1986) and Friesack (1989) 1989/90, Master exams (Prof. G. Bosinski): Final Palaeolithic finds at the Kartstein travertine site, Northern Eifel uplands 1990, contract with the “Archäologische Denkmalpflege” (State Heritage Service) at Coblence 1990/92, (first) grant of the new “Prinz-Maximilian-zu-Wied” foundation (Institute of Palaeolithic Research of the Roman-Germanic Central Museum of Mainz (RGZM Mainz, Neuwied-Monrepos) to complete my PhD 1992, PhD (Prof. G.
