Bio
Michael A Wewege is a PhD Candidate in the School of Medical Sciences, University of New South Wales and Neuroscience Research Australia. He is supervised by A/Prof James H McAuley and Dr Matthew Jones. The primary focus of Michael's thesis is using network meta-analysis to evaluate the comparative effectiveness of analgesic medicines for adults with low back pain. He is supported by an NHMRC Postgraduate Scholarship, a School of Medical Sciences Top-Up Scholarship, and University Postgraduate Award.
Previously, Michael completed a Bachelor of Exercise Physiology at UNSW Sydney in 2016, graduating with the University Medal, and a Master of Science by research in 2019, which examined low-volume high-intensity exercise for adults with metabolic syndrome.
