Scientific Interests:
biochemistry, bioinformatics, computational chemistry of biomolecules, structural biology, molecular modeling of biological macromolecules, molecular dynamics, molecular evolution and phylogenetics, and evolution of coagulation system. Proteins of hemostasis, especially contact factors. Structural biology of proteins of the contact system and kininogenesis using the CryoEM technique - studying the structure of kininogens. Docking ligands in search of new medicines and learning about the function of proteins.
Molecular modifications of blood clotting proteins triggered by reactive oxygen and nitrogen species. Molecular modifications of fibrinogen and alterations of its physiological functions. Molecular modifications of intrinsic blood coagulation factors and alterations of its physiological functions.
Research Topics:
Biochemistry, molecular evolution, bioinformatics, and structural biology of hemostasis proteins by CryoEM, relationships between hemostatic proteins within the blood coagulation cascade network, and related protein networks such as the kininogenesis contact system or the complement system. Application of bioinformatics tools for the study of blood coagulation proteins, and study of protein functions in association with the physiology and pathology of blood clotting.
