Bio
Meng Tao (S'95–M'99) received the M.S. degree from Zhejiang University, Zhejiang, China, in 1986, and the Ph.D. degree in materials science and engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, in 1998.
Between 1986 and 1992, he was with the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, Zhejiang University. From 1998 to 1999, he was a Research Scientist, University of South Carolina, Columbia. He was with Louisiana Tech University from 1999 to 2001 as an Assistant Professor. In 2001, he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington, where he is currently an Associate Professor. His research interests include experimental and theoretical studies of chemical vapor deposition of semiconductor and dielectric films, atomic-scale modification of semiconductor surfaces for interface engineering with dielectric and metal, and semiconducting metal oxides for all wet-chemical fabrication of multiple-junction solar cells. He has over 50 journal and refereed conference papers in these areas and holds two U.S. patents.
Dr. Tao received the South Central Bell Professorship 2001 and Outstanding Young Faculty Award 2004. He served on the steering committee of International Microwave Symposium (IMS) 2004 and currently serves on the organizing committee of International Workshop on Junction Technology 2006.
