个人简介
Mehul S. Suthar received his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (USA). He did his postdoctoral training in Michael Gale's laboratory in the Department of Immunology at the University of Washington (Seattle, USA). As a postdoctoral fellow, his research focused on defining the role of the RIG-I-like receptor (RLR) and interferon signalling pathways in regulating immunity to West Nile virus infection. His worked revealed that the RLR signalling pathway functions to drive cell-intrinsic immunity to viral infection and regulates innate and adaptive immunity, including natural killer cell, B cell, T cell and regulatory T cell responses. He is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and a member of the Emory Vaccine Center, both at Emory University (Atlanta, Georgia, USA). He is also a member of the Children's Center for Immunology and Vaccines, Atlanta. His current research focuses on studying the mechanisms underlying flavivirus pathogenesis, with specific emphasis on investigating protective immunity regulated by the RLRs, defining novel host antiviral effector genes that restrict viral infection and investigating strategies of viral immune evasion.
