Maxwell W. G. Miner

Dr. Miner started his academic journey in his home town at the University of Ottawa in Canada where he graduated with honors while completing a double major bachelors in chemistry and biochemistry. He focused mainly on analytical chemistry and HPLC of natural products while investigating seasonal phytochemical changes in plants. He continued his studies at the University of Turku finishing his master's degree in medical imaging while applying his previous academic experiences towards the field of radiochemistry. He then completed his PhD studies in the drug research doctoral program (DRDP) at the University of Turku working in the Roivainen group. Here, he worked on the synthesis of preclinical radiopharmaceuticals for imaging various inflammatory diseases and gliomas in animal models. Additionally, he worked on various image analysis techniques, improving data visualization methods, radiometabolite studies, radiochemistry synthesis, instrument building and integration, 3D-printing, digital design, training students, and day-to-day laboratory operations.
