个人简介
Max R. Lien is a fourth-year PhD candidate at the University of Southern California, NASA Space Technology Graduate Researcher, and Visiting Technologist at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2019. Max’s overarching research interest is to develop optical devices for applications in Earth science. At UW-Madison, he worked as a student researcher in the Department of Forest and Wildlife Ecology to design remote sensing techniques for crop protection and was awarded the UW Bookstore Academic Excellence Award for his research. Max is co-advised by Professors Michelle Povinelli and Han Wang at USC and is currently researching new materials for lightweight spacecraft and imaging systems. Max’s research efforts have resulted in three lead-author publications, and he has been awarded an Annenberg Fellowship, ARCS Foundation Scholarship, NSF Graduate Research Fellowship, and NASA Space Technology Graduate Research Opportunity. In addition to his research, he is an Eagle Scout and a dedicated classical pianist for 22 years and studies with faculty in the USC Thornton School of Music.
