Dr. Preindl obtained several honors including the NSF Career Award (2017), the FUTURA Award (2016), the Masao Horiba Awards honorable mention (2019), best paper and presentation awards including the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics best paper award (2019), and a prize for outstanding achievements during his studies.
His primary research interests are the design and control of power electronic systems with specific focus on energy storage and motor drive systems for electrified transportation, renewable-energy, and smart grid applications.
