Matthew C. Pickering

I am a clinician scientist with a research interest in the role of complement regulation in health and disease, specifically the relationship between uncontrolled complement activation and renal disease. I try to understand the mechanisms through which complement contributes to tissue damage by using experimental model systems and studying complement genetics in patients. My clinical interests include systemic lupus erythematosus, complement deficiency and complement-mediated kidney diseases.
