Bio
I enjoy finding solutions to complex problems. My research program has focused on using machine learning and numerical optimization to fit the very large number of unknown parameters in computational models of soft tissue mechanics to the similarly large number of measurements available from medical imaging technologies such as MRI, ultrasound and 3D microscopy. The methods I have developed use efficient algorithm design coupled with high performance computing to mitigate the computational burden of fitting 100,000+ parameters to data using 3D finite element models.
