My lab studies virus-host interactions, focusing on ways in which viruses counteract intrinsic host defenses. We uncovered roles for cellular DNA repair pathways in recognition and processing of viral genomes. We have discovered ways that viral oncoproteins manipulate DNA damage signaling and repair. We are also interested in developing viral vector systems for gene delivery and gene targeting. I have published over 90 papers in prestigious international journals including Nature, Molecular Cell, PNAS, EMBO Journal, and PLoS Pathogens. I am on the Editorial Boards of Journal of Virology, Molecular Therapy, and Human Gene Therapy.
