Bio
Interested in evolution of innate and adaptive immune mechanisms, with particular focus on the acute phase response in invertebrates and fish. My research interests are focused on mechanisms of internal defence against disease and developmental processes in marine organisms, with particular emphasis on welfare, inflammatory responses and comparative immunology, protein-carbohydrate interactions.
Main topics on Immunology of fish cellular and humoral lectins; antimicrobial peptides; Welfare and stress physiology in aquaculture. stress response; Studied acute stress effect on the fish immunity. scientific interest were also extended to Cnidarian biology and immunity. The actual research interests include, macrobenthonic invertebrate immunity welfare and biomarkers; fish adaptation physiology, immunity; stress and immunomodulation indicators.
