Bio
Matthew D. Cross received the B.S. and M.A. degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Lincoln, NE, USA, in 1985 and 1988, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in civil engineering from the University of Colorado Denver, Denver, CO, USA, in 2018.
He is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Geography and Environmental Sciences, University of Colorado Denver. Before his appointment at the University of Colorado Denver in 2015, he worked in the public sector for the USGS and in the private sector, with a primary focus on remote sensing technologies (both passive and active imaging systems) for both civilian and military applications. His current research interest includes using remote sensing data to better characterize tropical rainforest environments at the local and regional scale.
