I obtained a doctoral degree at Wageningen University in 2016. After that, I am developing and leading a team on global water quality and modeling at the Water Systems and Global Change group of Wageningen University. My team (MSc and PhD students) focus on multi-pollutant assessments of water quality for different regions (Europe, China, Black Sea, globe) for the past, present and future. We develop the family of the MARINA (water quality) models for plastics, antibiotics, nutrients and other chemicals. The models are applied to 10,226 sub-basins in the world to assess water pollution, its causes and explore future trends. I build my international network across the world and contribute to international water quality assessments (e.g., UN WWQA, INMS). I am currently developing a water quality sector within the ISIMIP/Proclias international network (https://www.isimip.org/). We currently launched a website on the MARINA models in which we show how our models can contribute to better understand water pollution issues from multi-pollutant perspectives, what causes of this pollution under global change climate changes.
