Bio
Mary Lynn Davis-Ajami, PhD, MBA, MSN, FNP, RN is a Full Professor (tenured) and Associate Dean Academic Affairs Michigan State University College of Nursing, and holds an appointment as a research economist with the National Bureau of Economic Research. She has years of experience as an RN and family nurse practitioner, in health care leadership and management, and in academia as a faculty, nurse scientist, and administrator to include roles as Associate Dean, and Concentration Coordinator.
Dr. Davis-Ajami has taught across the undergraduate and graduate curriculum in master and doctoral courses, for US universities and internationally, primarily in health system / nursing administration, leadership, and management courses.
Dr. Davis-Ajami has a growing reputation in health services research (HSR) specializing in health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) in chronic conditions and their comorbidities. She has been a PI, M-PI, and Co-I on intramural and externally funded research. She has authored 30 publications appearing in high impact factor journals. She holds several awards recognizing both her excellence in nursing practice and as a nurse scientist, to include awards from Indian University, the Novant Health System, North Carolina, and the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR), among others. Currently she serves as a member of the National AcademyHealth Workforce Interest Group Advisory Committee, and as a member of several international and national professional organizations (e.g., AcademyHealth, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, International Society for Pharmacoeconomic Research, International Society to Advance Alzheimer’s Research and Treatment). She holds a PhD from The Ohio State College of Pharmacy in pharmacy administration with a research focus in Health Services Research – Health Economics and Outcomes research; MBA from Wake Forest University, MSN Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Southern Indiana, BSN from the University of Evansville, and a post master’s certificate in Teaching and Learning from the University of Maryland.
