Bio
Dr. Marwa Mahmoud Saleh, M.D., Ph.D., is a professor emeritus of Phoniatrics in Ain Shams Faculty of Medicine in Egypt. Phoniatrics is related to language delay, voice and speech disorders, together with swallowing disorders. This has been her field of work since 1984, with a special focus on language development. Her master’s dissertation in 1987 was about delayed language development in children and she is well versed in the Egyptian language development, especially phonology. She was the provider of Phonetics and Linguistics’ lectures at her work for well over 30 years. Her doctoral dissertation in 1990 was carried out in the United States in University of Iowa and was about acoustic analysis of voice. Marwa is currently a resident of Minnesota, USA.
