Bio
Martin Unwin received the Ph.D. degree in the subject of spaceborne GPS from the University of Surrey, Guildford, U.K., from 1991 to 1995.
He initiated and led the GPS team in SSTL, designing the SGR-20 space GPS receiver which flew on UoSAT-12 and Proba-1. The GPS team succeeded in demonstrating autonomous orbit control, attitude determination in orbit, operation of GPS above the GPS constellation, and the development of GPS reflectometry instruments on UK-DMC, TDS-1, and CYGNSS satellites. He had involvement in GIOVE-A and Galileo FOC projects from the beginning. He is currently a Principal Engineer in SSTL and is working on the development of newer generation GNSS receivers for remote sensing.
