Bio
Dr. Wahl is a hydrologist at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He co-leads a military hydrology group that provides reachback engineering support across the Department of Defense supporting contingency operations and humanitarian assistance and disaster response efforts. His research focuses on providing timely hydrologic information in data sparse areas.
Dr. Wahl received his bachelor degree in civil engineering from the University of Dayton. He holds masters and doctoral degrees in Food, Agricultural, and Biological Engineering from The Ohio State University where his research focused on the hydraulic efficiency of treatment wetlands. As a graduate research fellow at Ohio State, Dr. Wahl developed stochastic models for evaluating the hydraulic performance of treatment basins. During this time he instructed a number of undergraduate courses within the College of Engineering. Prior to his graduate studies, Dr. Wahl served on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps for five years.
