At Utrecht University I am working on the SENTINEL project that aims to link together different models into a new modelling framework to support the EU and give details about different aspects of the low-carbon energy system

At PBL I was a policy researcher in the field of international climate change, where I do quantitative research to advice policymakers. The subjects I work on are domestic climate- and energy policies of large countries, non-state actors, and policies that are linked with climate change.

This position enables me to combine my background in business mathematics and environmental science. In this work I have an analytical and critical attitude and try to achieve results in a pragmatic way. In the projects I work on I try to reach good results by combining content and knowledge with focusing on efficient team work. Therefore I prefer to work in a project-based manner where I find it important to find a good balance between high quality and time management.

In general I like to work in the field of sustainability with a focus on environmental and financial issues. I have working experience in both the financial sector and in environmental policy. The first years of my working life I have spent as a financial risk manager. In that period, a new way of assessing financial risks was introduced, and I enjoyed introducing and implementing these concepts. This meant both convincing management and other colleagues of this new method together with building tools to give a clear insight into the financial risks. I find sustainability a very important subject as this brings people together to ensure long-term flourishing of our world. It also is a very interesting subject because many different backgrounds are involved, both professional and cultural. This is very challenging and I especially like to approach this subject from an environmental and financial angle.
