个人简介
Marius Moșoarca is a civil engineer and holds a PhD in civil engineering, obtained with the “Cum laudae” distinction, for the PhD thesis „Contributions to the calculation and construction of reinforced concrete structural walls”. He is a specialist of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, being involved in studies, project management and inspection of heritage structures but also a member of the International Scientific Committee on the Analysis and Restoration of Structures of Architectural Heritage (ISCARSAH) since 2017.
He is the vice-dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning from Timisoara and professor since 2015 where he is holding lectures concerning structural design, antiseismic architecture and restoration methods, assessing in the last two years, together with the over 50 historic churches in the Banat region. In the same time, he is also involved in the „Urban planning and landscape design” master program, where he is teaching antiseismic urban planning and in the „Heritage restoration and regeneration” master program highlighting the importance of the complex assessment of heritage structures and up to date intervention techniques. Currently he is also a PhD coordinator, supervising 7 PhD students with studies concerning the seismic vulnerability of historic buildings, new strengthening techniques suitable for heritage buildings, respecting the Venice Charter and the assessment of historic timber roof structures.
He is also one of the founders and vice-director of the “Urban Planning and Architecture research centre” involved in various studies concerning both new developments and heritage related studies. In the same time, he was involved in 11 research grants, at national and international level, being the coordinating director for Romania of the international research programme COST Action FP1101 “Assessment, Reinforcement and Monitoring of Timber Structures” being involved in the Management Committee Member. In the same time, he was responsible of the international research programme “Innovative systems for earthquake resistant masonry enclosures in RC buildings” (INSYSME, FP7- SME-2013 -606229) in Romania.
He has participated at over 90 international and national conferences and has published over 140 papers in both International Scientific Indexed (ISI) and International Data Base journals and proceedings, contributing with studies concerning heritage building protection and management. He is also a reviewer for 13 International Scientific Indexed journals, for publications like Elsevier, Springer, Wiley and Taylor and Francis and was a reviewer for 12 national and international scientific conferences.
As a professional, he is the manager of S.C. H.I. STRUCT S.R.L, being the lead structural engineer for over 150 design projects including over 50 restauration projects of heritage buildings, historic churches, fortresses, archaeological sites and vulnerability studies.
