Bio
Dr. Marina Bouché is Professor of Histology at the Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. She received her PhD in Cell Biology from the Sapienza University of Rome, after which she joined the Cell Biology Dept. at Cornell University Medical College, NYC, NY, as a post-doc. Once back in Italy, she leaded her own research group at the Histology and Embryology Dept at the Sapienza University of Rome. She is the head of the laboratory on Muscle histogenesis and remodeling, at the Unit of Histology and Med. Embr. DAHFMO, Sapienza University of Rome, Rome. Her major interest is to dissect intracellular signalling regulating skeletal and cardiac muscle differentiation, histogenesis and remodelling. Understanding the molecular pathways that regulate muscle growth and repair should be crucial to identify novel therapeutic options to treat muscle wasting-associated disorders. She serves as reviewer for various national and international grant proposal, as well as for various research journals.
