Bio
Marianne Mak-van der Vossen is a medical doctor with specialization in General practice. She worked as a general practitioner for 15 years, and combined this with teaching in the workplace. From 2003, Marianne has been affiliated to the Department of General Practice of Amsterdam UMC. She has rich experience in teaching, education coordination, assessment and faculty training. In March 2019 she received her doctorate (with distinction) based on her dissertation 'Learning from lapses, how to identify, classify and respond to unprofessional behaviour in medical students'. Her thesis has been awarded the biannual Best Thesis Prize 2020 by the Netherlands Association for Medical Education (NVMO). Currently, Marianne is a senior researcher leading the Educational Research Group at the department of General Practice/GP specialty training, Amsterdam UMC.
