Research activity of Dr Oteri is focused on chemical-nutritional characterization of feeds and food using innovative chromatographic techniques coupled to mass spectrometer and spectrophotometer detectors. Different studies have been focused on non-conventional feed for animal nutrition with particular reference to fatty acids profile, triacylglycerols, bioactive compounds and antioxidant activity. The research activities concerned the feeding and the nutrition of different animal species such as: ruminants, monogastric, fish and marine organisms.
Research areas of interest also include functional foods, agro-industrial by-products and sustainable food in human and animal nutrition.
