Head of the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Medical University-Plovdiv, Bulgaria and the Laboratory of Microbiology at the University Hospital "St. George"-Plovdiv. Scientific supervisor of 8 PhD students during the last 10 years. Leading investigator or co-investigator in more than 30 research projects with national or European funding. Research interests: 1. Clinical Microbiology - antimicrobial susceptibility and mechanisms of resistance; 2. Experimental and clinical immunology - infections and immunity, immune tolerance and autoimmunity, immune deficiencies.
