Bio
M.C. Teresa Rodríguez Hernández is an Associate Researcher at the Center for Research
in Applied Chemistry (CIQA). She Obtained a Master’s Degree in Science and Technology
in Polymers at the Faculty of Chemical Sciences of the Autonomous University of Coahuila
(FCQ-UAdeC). She has been working at CIQA since 1997. Research areas being worked
on are the characterization of molecular architecture, specifically molecular weight,
molecular weight distribution and degree of branching in polyolefins using the high-
temperature Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC) technique with multiple detectors
(index of refraction, viscometry and light scattering). The GPC technique has also been
used to establish and adjust the polymerization conditions for PE, PP and PS catalyzed
with metallocenes. Studies of thermal and mechanical degradation have been carried out,
as well as the recycling of polymers such as Nylon 6, Ps, HIPS, PE, EVA, PC and PE-
EVA, PC-ABS mixtures.
