个人简介
Maria obtained her PhD in Bioengineering Sciences from VIB-VUB (Belgium), where she focused on deciphering the role of antioxidant enzymes and the redox regulation of proteins. She also performed structural-functional characterization of a genetically encoded hypochlorite biosensor. Fascinated by the world of redox biology, she continued her scientific journey as a postdoctoral researcher at UCL (2020), where she worked on the coenzyme A-mediated regulation of proteins. In 2023, she joined the Cochemé lab as a postdoctoral research associate to work on the redox regulation of proteins in human pathologies. Maria uses a combination of biochemical, structural and cellular biology approaches in her research.
