My primary research activity is in the areas of Marine Micropaleontology. I have used both coccolithophores and benthic foraminifera as research organisms and my interests are focused on their life cycles, taxonomy, distribution and biodiversity in the eastern Mediterranean Sea, as well as on their application in environmental and earth science problems. Currently, I am working on applications of microfossils of the Aegean Sea in the context of environmental monitoring of marine ecosystems.
