个人简介
Marco Aurélio de Menezes Franco earned his Bachelor's Degree in Physics from the Department of Physics at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), a Master's Degree in Applied Physics from the Institute of Physics of São Carlos (IFSC), of the University of São Paulo (USP), and a Ph.D. in Physics from the Institute of Physics (IFUSP) of USP. As a PIBIC-CNPq scholarship holder, Marco Aurélio worked on two scientific initiation projects. The first project involved the characterization of carrier transport in semiconductor heterostructures containing InAs quantum dots in the field of Condensed Matter Physics. In the second project, he worked at EMBRAPA Instrumentação, where he developed multivariate models to maximize the estimates of the concentration of chemical elements in the area of atomic spectroscopy, using LIBS spectra of soil and synthetic samples. At LAbI UFSCar, the researcher participated in scientific dissemination projects, where he produced didactic material on the research of professors at the university. During his Master's degree at IFSC, he studied problems related to matrix effects and the evolution of LIBS plasma over time, characterizing physical properties such as local thermodynamic equilibrium, temperature, electron density, and spectral acquisition time. Throughout his Ph.D., Marco Aurélio conducted research on the life cycle and physicochemical properties of atmospheric aerosols in remote regions of Central Amazonia, specifically at the ATTO site. He also completed an internship at the Max Planck Institute of Chemistry (MPIC) in Mainz, Germany, where he integrated and processed scientific databases for 13 months, with funding from CAPES and MPIC. Currently, the researcher is a postdoctoral intern at the Institute of Physics at USP, with a FAPESP scholarship, in a project involving this institute, the Research Center for Greenhouse Gas Innovation (RCGI), and Shell-Brazil. The study aims to evaluate the relationship between greenhouse gases and land use in the Amazon biome, focusing on the Brazilian territory and neighboring countries.
