个人简介
Manuel Rodríguez Pérez was educated at the Instituto Tecnológico de Mérida, México with degree in chemistry. Professor Rodríguez has a M.S. and Ph.D degrees in physical chemistry, during postdoctoral work he joined with Dr. Parkinson´s group at the University of Wyoming in a research stay, where he worked on the combinatorial method for the search and development of an efficient photocatalytic material for hydrogen production. As part of this project, he worked with semiconductor oxides based on bismuth, where CuBiO4 semiconductor oxide was synthesized using metal organic decomposition method. His PhD thesis was focused in the synthesis and use of WO3 as a photoanode in combination with a p-type material for the development of a tandem cell.
He has a postdoctoral research on Dr. Osterloh´s group at University of California, Davis where he worked on the synthesis of SrTiO3, their surface modification, the photodeposition of catalytic materials for their improvement on light absorption and their characterization using surface photovoltage spectroscopy.
He has a postdoctoral research on Dr. Umapada Pal lab´s at Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, México where he worked on the synthesis, deposition and characterization of graphene oxide and reduced graphene for their used as a counter electrode on dye sensitize solar cells (DSSC) and the analysis of recombination process on it.
He has experience in the synthesis of nano and micro materials using different methods as a solvothermal, solid state, hydrothermal, microwave, and electrodeposition, the deposition of the synthetized material on film form and their characterization through different techniques (SEM, XRD, UV-Vis, Photoelectrochemistry). He also have experience developing DSSCs using TiO2 and ZnO as semiconductor oxides.
At present, he is a professor at Universidad Autónoma de Campeche, México. Current research is centered on new materials for the improvement of the efficiency on heat and hydrogen systems, for their used as a renewable energy. He has collaboration with Dr. Oskam at Cinvestav-Mérida with projects focus on photoelectrochemical process for water splitting.
