Dr. Manuel Ramírez has participated as principal investigator and co-investigator on multiple local and multicenter research projects, particularly about epidemiology and interventions on primary and secondary prevention, related to the following areas: human body composition, exercise physiology and physical fitness; chronic diseases related to nutrition and lifestyle; energy metabolism and pattern of physical activity; nutrition on early life and human capital; micronutrient deficiency (iron, folic acid, zinc and B12) and nutritional supplementation; intervention models to promote healthy lifestyles; capacity building for the prevention and control of NCDs; mental health; use of mobile technology on health; aflatoxins and hepatic disease; metabolomics and chronic inflammatory processes.
