Bio
Dr. Mantu Hudait is an Associate Professor in the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech. Prior joining at Virginia Tech, he was at Intel Corporation's Advanced Transistor and Nanotechnology Group. His low power transistor research was press released in 2007 and 2009 and received two Divisional Recognition Awards from Intel, 60 issued US Patents, and over 195 technical publications.
Professor Hudait directs a research laboratory with emphasis on heterogeneous integration of III-V compound semiconductors, group IV (Ge, GeSn) and QDs laser, GeSn and InAsSb based long wavelength infrared photodetectors, transistors, and co-integrated Ge/InGaAs CMOS. Dr. Hudait’s teaching focuses on integrating research and industry experience into curriculum. In January 2021, he has received “Excellence in Teaching Award from the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at Virginia Tech”. The award, presented by the center to approximately 9 Virginia Tech faculty members each academic year, recognizes a faculty member's effective, engaged, and dynamic approaches and achievements as an educator. He has also received the Virginia Tech “Teacher of the Week” award twice which “recognizes effective, engaged, and dynamic teachers implementing learner-centered pedagogy” for graduate and undergraduate teaching in March 2012 and September 2013, as well as “Scholar of the Week”, June 2015.
