个人简介
Makoto Taiji received the Ph.D. degree in physics from The University of Tokyo, in 1992. He is currently the Deputy Director of the RIKEN Center for Biosystems Dynamics Research (BDR) and the Team Leader of the Laboratory for Computational Molecular Design, RIKEN Center. He is one of the pioneers in the special-purpose computers and heterogeneous computing for scientific simulations. In 1991, he developed one of the first FPGA-based reconfigurable accelerator for Monte Carlo simulations of Ising spin systems. In 2006, he developed “MDGRAPE-3,” a PetaFLOPS-scale special-purpose computer for molecular dynamics simulation. In 2019, he has also developed the System-on-Chip based on special-purpose computer for molecular dynamics simulations, “MDGRAPE-4A. ” His research interests include computer science and computational science, especially computational biology. He was awarded three Gordon Bell Prizes, in 1995, 2006, and 2009.
