Mahmud Hossain received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 2018. He completed his bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2009. Before joining UAB as a Ph.D. student in 2014, he had been working in the software industry for five years. He served Samsung R\&D Institute Bangladesh (SRBD) as a Lead Engineer at the Dept. of Solution Lab from 2010 to 2014. He developed a secure media (audio, video, and image) sharing framework using the Windows Runtime platform while working at Samsung. He is currently working as a researcher at the cybersecurity department of Visa Inc, U.S.A. His research interests include computer and network security that focuses on Intrusion Detection Systems, Intrusion Prevention Systems, Network Monitoring Systems, and Digital Forensics.
