Bio
Prof. Maher El-Domiaty (Ph.D., Bradford Univ., UK; B.Pharm, Alexandria Univ.), is currently the president of the Committee of the sector of Pharmaceutical Studies, SCU, Egypt. He is also professor of pharmacognosy and chemistry of natural products at Zagazig University. For seven years ending in 2011, he was president of Zagazig University. From 1996 to 2002 he was the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and chaired the Department of Pharmacognosy for two years (1994-1996). In 2012, he as a CEO, shared establishment of ICBR (a pharmaceutical and clinical research center) as an advanced CRO in Egypt. Prior to 2012, he also served as a Governor of Beni Suef Province.
Dr. M. El-Domiaty was a member of the Supreme Council for Universities from 2004 to 2011 and the Chairman of the Board of Director of the Binational Fulbright Commission in Egypt for three years.
As a Keynote speaker and participant he shared more than 50 national and international conferences in the field of analysis of medicinal natural products, higher education with special interest in pharmacy education and pharmacy practice. He has published 72 papers and was on the editorial boards and as a manuscript reviewer for numerous scientific journals.
Actively shared several advisory and consultative committees concerned with pharmacy and medicines in the Ministry of Health, and shared the Board of Directors of some national pharmaceutical companies.
His interests includes: Natural Products; Biotechnology; Drug Analysis; Higher Education Planning and Development; Pharmacy Practice and Drug Regulatory Affairs.
