目前主要在青藏高原西喜马拉雅、黄土高原等山地灾害多发区开展降雨诱发浅层滑坡、泥石流雨量阈值推算与验证,水力类泥石流起动机理和临界条件,树轮地貌法重建山地灾害史,冰湖溃决型泥石流动力学过程,滑坡泥石流过程与地貌演变等研究。相关研究成果见《Hydrology and earth system science》、《Geomorphology》、《Landslides》、《Bulletin of engineering geology and environment》、等国际地学期刊;相关青藏高原科考事迹见中国科学报、光明网;获批省部级以上山地灾害防灾减灾咨询报告多项。
