Bio
As an undergraduate and a member of the Faculty of Pharmacy of University of Naples (Italy), I performed a research project for my first honour degree thesis in the laboratory of Professor Rosaria Meli. I obtained a degree in Pharmacy in March, 2009. Upon graduation, and as a recipient of a fellowship from the Spanish Ministry of Education (FPU program), I joined the NEIRID laboratory of Dr. Oreste Gualillo where I performed my PhD thesis. In September 2014 I moved to Finland at University of Tampere to Professor Eeva Moilanen's Immunopharmacology Research Group, during three months. In 2015 I obtained the International PhD at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. During my PhD formation, I worked on several projects most of them related to inflammatory and rheumatic diseases. In 2016 I moved to Finland and I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at University of Tampere to Professor Eeva Moilanen's Immunopharmacology Research Group, as a recipient of a postdoctoral research grant from University of Tampere where I have studied the role of specific pathways in fibrotic diseases like scleroderma. From April 2017 to July 2020 I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at INIBIC as a recipient of a "Sara Borrell" postdoctoral contract from Carlos III Health Institute. My research was focused on deciphering the role of mtDNA variants in osteoarthritis (OA) using an in vivo model (conplastic mice).
