个人简介
Dr. Marina Sanz-Martin is an expert in climate change ecology conducting her research using different complementary approaches such as statistical modeling, hadling large datasets, field monitoring and experiments. Her background encompasses the assessment of climate-driven changes and their effects on marine ecology in two regions, the Mediterranean Sea and the Arctic Ocean. In the Mediterranean, she has evaluated the vulnerability of demersal fisheries' resources due to warming and migration patterns of Brama brama and the presence of marine micro-plastic pollution in surface waters as well as ingested by marine organisms. In the Arctic, she has researched the development of plankton blooms in response to increased carbon dioxide and temperature levels in addition to the poleward migration of coastal, subarctic macrophytes. On a global scale, she has evaluated the perception of increased jellyfish bloom trends. Her recent research focus on estimate fisheries vulnerabilities using climate change velocity in the Mediterranean and Cantabrian Seas through statistical modeling. She handles large datasets of satellite environmental data and fisheries data using the open-source program R and QGIS. Currently, she is working as a postdoctoral researcher with a competivite grant Vicenç Mut and she is PI of the CLISSARTES project funded by AXA Research Fund at the Group of Ecosystems Oceanography (GRECO) of the Oceanographic Centre of the Balearic Islands (COB, IEO-CSIC) in Mallorca, Spain.
