Bio
Dr. Md. Jarez Miah received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2009, the M.Sc. degree in Communications Technology from Ulm University, Ulm, Germany, in 2012, and the PhD degree in Engineering from Technical University of Berlin, Berlin, Germany, in 2017. His M.Sc. and Doctoral theses dealt with design, fabrication and characterization of vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers, and high-power and high-brightness edge-emitting semiconductor lasers, respectively. From 2017 to 2019, he worked as a senior semiconductor engineer at VI Systems GmbH and a development engineer at TRUMPF Laser GmbH, Berlin, Germany. In 2020, he joined the Ferdinand-Braun-Institute gGmbH, Leibniz-Institute for High-Frequency Technik, Berlin, Germany and worked as a postdoctoral researcher there until he joined the Institute of Information and Communication Technology (IICT) at BUET in 2022. Currently, he is an assistant professor at IICT, BUET. His research interests include semiconductor diode lasers and laser bars, optical communication system and artificial intelligence.
